The staff at the Whitby office of the Ontario Disability Support Program (ODSP) came out in support of the Day of Action to draw attention to the shortfall in funding that has plagued the OSDP.

Maureen Knapp Income Support Specialist and Treasurer of OPSEU Local 302 acted as spokesperson with the media and organized the information picket at the Whitby office.
ODSP workers are struggling to cope with a caseload ratio of 530:1 – more than twice the average found in other provinces. "Smokey"Thomas President of OPSEU repeated his demand made earlier this winter to the Legislative Committee on Finance and Economic Affairs that $60 million be added to this spring’s provincial budget to bring Ontario’s income support caseload ratio closer to the national average of about 250:1.
